Biochar has proved to be very effective in increasing the survival rate of trees and shrubs when being planted or transplanted. The best results have been achieved when the Biochar has been integrated withcompost made with biomass such as leaves and forest litte taken from areas wher the same tree species are growing.
This allows the Biochar to become inoculated with teh specific types of fungi and bacteria that already form relationships with these types of tree and will speed up the establishment of the new tree’s root network and nutrient exchange mechanisms.
